Why do distractions come in our life?
Distractions are the pleasing things we choose to get diverted towards. When we are totally immersed in the activity which you like to perform then you derive more pleasure in the same activity than the distractions which nudges you to look towards them.
What we get distract towards mostly depend on our liking and preferences. When the distraction makes you feel happy and you derive the pleasure out of it, them you will pursue that distraction.
Distractions which we consider them as bad things, because we are unable to get over the temptation of them. If you are capable to handle distractions without getting hampered by it then it will bother least to you.
If you are experiencing the pain due to distractions, it means that you are not capable to manage them. You simply try to resist the temptation of distractions and you get overwhelmed. Rather than trying to resist it, if you accept them and try to resolve the root causes of distractions, then only you will not get overwhelmed.
Most of the times we are too much habitual to pay attention towards the surrounding activities while performing some tasks. When you are more bothered about what's going on nearby then you are bound to get distracted. If you are not focused totally in your work, it means you are inviting the distractions to trouble you wishfully.
First and foremost thing to understand, Are you really want to avoid distractions? or you are not have any wish as such? People don't have clarity in their life so they are tend to get diverted.
If you are not firm on the plan for the day, it means that you are going get carried away by the day. A day without plan or goal will get several distractions. You will get drifted towards whatever comes on the way.
We really need to have goal or aim in life to avoid the distractions. Once you are firm on you goal then you are less likely to divert from the course. If something falls out of the aim then you will immediately react to it and will try to correct your course as per you priorities. People those who have higher purpose to pursue in life will not get distracted by meager attractions or pleasures.
Why people easily fall prey to the negative influences? Main reason for it is that they don't have any defined thoughts process to follow. They get diverted or influenced by the contemporary philosophies or trends on social media.
People without their own thoughts or firm beliefs will get distracted by the social media. What is trending will make them get involve more and they try to derive pleasure by commenting or making controversial statements.
You have to feed you mind more positive and uplifting thoughts intentionally or else negative thoughts will get invaded without your permissions. It happens unconsciously that you will allow your mind to absorb the negativity.
Like the nature out Mind always abhors vacuum, so it will try to quickly get occupies with the more convenient or easily acceptable or adoptable thoughts. We are more likely to get attracted towards the negative emotions or thoughts easily. Distractions will also feel you more comfortable with the adopted practices which you have been doing since long.
If you want to build the new habit then you will initially find more resistance or distractions. As we have already created the habit pattern in our mind so you get used to it.
Whenever you try build new habit you have to overcome the existing created pattern in mind. But mind doesn't like to adopt the new which mind need to create new program or pattern which is hectic so mind try to oppose it by distracting or diverting towards the older habits.
Strategies to avoid the distractions in life
Set firm goal or purpose to follow
Those who are firm on their purpose or those who set their direction in life are mostly likely to get less distracted. Those who don't have firm purpose to follow will get drifted directionless. There is no other way around than to commit to follow the goal all the time.
If you have decided to pursue career in acting then you have to strive hard to get your first break through. You will face plenty of failure during the journey. If you are not committed towards your passion then you will get distracted towards other career options.
Many people will demotivate you to leave the acting career and go for the easy career options. If you have strong determination to follow your heart and intuition then no distraction is as big as to make you feel de-motived.
Avoid the temptation of distractions
Distractions will make you feel more comfortable than your pursuit. If you want to go by the easy way then you will prefer to follow the distractions. Those who are strong convictions towards life are not going to choose the easy path. They will choose the path which will take them towards the eternal success.
Everyone will have temptation to go by the distractions as they please you. They will make you feel happy and you derive more pleasure by pursuing them. Bitter medicines are more effective than the sweet one's. You have to make a choice to go by the committed path and not to pay attentions towards the distraction.
Those who can't control the healthy habits will easily fall prey to the distractions. If you want to reduce your weigh then you will start healthy food but the temptation to eat the cookies will drive you towards the dish.
You are already habitual to have more cookies so you will feel more desires to have cookies. This temptation has to be overcome by determination and resolves. Avoid the temptation for the betterment of your future.
Stick with the firm beliefs and values
Why people want to bypass the road signal ? Why people want to escape the healthy morning exercise? Why people want to go by the shortcut methods? Why people want to bypass the system for personal gain?
All of the above question are so obvious to think over it. They all are distracted by the values or ethics for the momentary gain or benefits. People always seek instant benefits with less efforts, so they tend to follow the shortcut methods or get distracted with unethical gains. You always have the choice to follow you heart or mind. But we are too much dominated by the mind and it's cravings of instant gratifications.
Develop the habit of self-discipline
You always wanted to study hard or complete the task within time limits, but you have carried away by the distractions while doing the activity. Most of us are victim of the procrastinations. We like to delay things intentionally and enjoy the time to do unhealthy things. You will prefer to spare time on Facebook rather than to prepare for exams.
Social media is the major distraction now we are experiencing. Due to easily availability and accessibility has made our life more comfortable and more lethargic. All the smartphones have developed the applications so that you can easily reach to the social media. So we are too much habitual to check our social media accounts frequently.
It is like the diaper of new born baby, we have to always check whether baby has done shit or not? We always feel like something interesting update might have posted so we always keep on checking frequently. But in reality there is hardly any shit you find in your diaper!!!
Self -discipline is the habit which adopt by practicing it over period of time. You have to work hard to get succeed in life. There is no other option than to work hard. Likewise you have to have that self-discipline to avoid the distractions. Whenever you come across the distraction you must fight it back with the commitment and firm determinations. Bring purpose and enthusiasm in the activity you perform
What task you have undertaken must be of your liking or else you will get distracted towards more pleasing thing than that. If you don't want to perform the task but you are forced to do then you will crave for the more pleasing things than present activity. If you are not willing to do then you will pay more attention towards the surrounding distractions.
If have decided to read a book, you are not frequent reader then you will feel bored after reading one page. After one page you will looking around the things and you will get some cue which you are habitual to get pleasure from it.
You are more likely to follow the things which you have seen as more interested than reading the book. You will switch to check your phone or social media there you get more pleasure. Always occupy your mind with the thoughts of present activity
Which thoughts you are carrying in your mind will influence your concentration in present activity. If you want to learn the computer programming then you have to imagine the benefits which you will reap by learning the new skill.
You will be more respected in your friend circle or you will get more options to earn on freelancing etc. If you occupy the mind with positive thoughts about the present activity then you are less likely to get distracted bu other pleasures.
If you focus all your attention on your passion then nothing will please you more than pursuing the passion. You will always keep on thinking about your passion. Distractions will be more powerful only in the absence of strong desire to follow the planned tasks.

Distractions are merely the excuses to escape from the hard work and dedicated efforts. You are not going to distract if you have clarity on your purpose. If you want to avoid the distractions then you have to focus only the essence of life. Don't pay attention towards the unproductive things which will degrade you.
