Understanding the nature of the mind
When you feel sorrow about something, it means that you are lacking understanding
Take away attention from mind it dies. You need to divert mind towards some higher purpose i.e. Divine
Breath is the thought, if you stop breathing immediately your thoughts will stop. When under stress your breath will slow down. If you change breath to higher then your stress will subsides
Ego is created due to body consciousness and materialistic desires. Once you get soul consciousness all your sufferings will disappear
When your mind have less thoughts then only you will feel peaceful and happy. More thoughts will make you more uncomfortable will create bad feelings and emotions.
Mind is like child, what ever story you tell mind, it will accept without any judgment. So instead of negative story telling why not to tell always positive outcome stories
Understanding that you are not your thoughts is a game-changer. When you begin to meditate, the first thing you learn is to take a step back and observe the mind objectively. You notice there are two separate entities at play - the thoughts that come and go and the one who is aware of them- the watcher
When pleasant thoughts arise, you are quite happy for them to be there. Not so with anger thoughts, jealous thoughts or sad thoughts. The moment they raise their ugly heads, you slap a ‘bad‘ or ’wrong’ label on them and want to get rid of them as quickly as possible
Just because it tells you something doesn’t mean there’s any truth in it. If your mind is trying to convince you that you’re a loser, deeply question whether this is really the case
The peace you are looking for is with you always. But you‘ll never find it in the mind. Peace is the natural consequence of being present
Accepting ‘what is’ is the key to finding inner peace and contentment. Since you have no control over the events that happen in your life, try to embrace them rather than fight them. You will experience contentment to the extent that you accept whatever life brings
When you know you are not the mind, you no longer have to take it so damn seriously
Don’t confuse happiness and contentment. Happiness is a state that comes and goes. Contentment is a mindset which stems from accepting things just as they are, including your messy, imperfect self
Only way you can live happy life is by making your mind peaceful and calm. Bringing your mind in present moment. Meditation is the way where you reduce your thoughts by bringing concentration on breathing. Your mind will have less thoughts as your focus goes to breathing
You can't be happy and unhappy at the same time. Only one emotion either good feeling or bad feelings exists at a time .So if you can change your thoughts to positivity then your feelings will change to good, which means your bad feelings will be replaced by good feelings.
Emotions are temporary in nature. You can't remember emotions now about past bad times or distant future feelings. What you are feeling now are your emotions at present moment.
Nature of thoughts or feelings or emotions is temporary they don't lasts longer. You have to just observe the thoughts and let them pass without any entanglement
Thoughts, feelings and emotions themselves aren’t the primary cause of suffering. It is our identification with them that’s the problem
We pay attention towards things which gives you either pleasure or pain. When we go through these experiences our feeling changes. We bother only to these instances in our life
No thought has any power. You have power. And when you identify and believe in the thought, you give power to the thought. Peace is the natural consequence of not minding what the mind gets up to
The natural tendency is to reject and push away unpleasant experiences that arise within us. In doing so, we add fuel to the fire and add to our suffering
Thoughts, feelings and emotions are there anyway—sometimes pleasant, sometimes unpleasant. They are part of who we are. Embracing them is the way to peace
The thoughts are not the problem. The real issue is your identification with them. Recognizing this can transform your life in an instant. It is this tendency to judge unwanted thoughts as bad or wrong that creates suffering
The key to breaking the patterns of fear and anxiety (and other destructive patterns) is to change the way you relate to the thoughts in your head. You need to make a conscious choice to withdraw your attention from fearful thinking
One of the main insights in meditation practice is that your awareness can only be in one place at a time. If you are lost in your thinking mind, you can’t simultaneously be aware of your surroundings. Likewise, when you shift your attention to the present moment, thinking stops. When you are present here and now, the mind automatically becomes quiet.
Only awareness can bring change. Awareness of ignorance is important to change the current bad habits. Once you have awareness it means you will not suffer from anything in life.
Out of the ignorance most of the evil things happen. They are not aware of what bad they are doing. They feel like they are doing out of good intentions as per their perspectives
Negative thoughts are vicious cycle of negative thoughts of future outcome. Replace with positive outcome your feelings will change. Don't try to resist the negative thoughts if you do that then they will gain more momentum.
Your mind doesn't understand whether thoughts are real or imaginary, it will create respective emotions and feelings. So by creating positive thoughts you can change your feelings to good
Try to understand nature of your negative thinking and change your thoughts to break chain of vicious cycle
Worry can be overcome by accepting the worst case scenario. Writing down your worry will give you more clarity on what exactly causing you worry. Always share worries with closed person, they will make you aware of your perspective about the problem
Your mind is like fertile land which will create weeds if you don't cultivate with good seeds. You have to feed mind with constructive thoughts to grow positive thoughts.
By nature mind will try to bring negative thoughts due to past mind conditioning. You have to choose your thoughts wisely or else your habitual negative thoughts will occupy your fertile mind
There will be always thoughts in mind. So don't try to control thoughts you can't change nature of mind, instead choose which thoughts you can to bring forth. If you resist hard it will pop up more intensively.
Just observe the thoughts, they will come and go . If you get involved then they will create more mess up. Thoughts are temporary in nature they will come and go. Don't create any emotional attachment with the thoughts
Leave the mind in peace to do its thing and it will leave you in peace to do yours. Relax, be alert, focus on your breathing, resist nothing. Accept the mind exactly as it is. It can only trouble you if you resist it
Negative thoughts will gain momentum when you bring same thoughts by same negative information feeding. Dominant thoughts will attract like thoughts, so more negative thoughts will make you more engrossed in negativity
Face the fear then death of fear is must. Only action can overcome the fear. Do things which you fear the most. Conquer fear and live a life like a winner
We actually don't get happiness by object itself, but the feeling good after achieving (goal or aim) object makes you happy. Simply money or success are the means to delusional happiness. Once you achieve goal you will feel happy temporary but after few days happiness feds away.
It means that materialistic desires will not give you permanent happiness. Why not to generate same happy feelings in God and soul consciousness. Exciting things gives you more happy feelings eg. hobbies
Only way to remain all the time happy is in present moment. Power of now. Bring back your attention to present. Ways are like Observe the breath, nature, chanting, 5 senses awareness, mindfulness, creative activities, diverting attention to something creative and constructive
And the good news is that, because the mind can only be in one place at a time, you don’t have to actively try to stop thinking. Bring your attention to the present moment and thinking will stop automatically. To our mind, mindfulness practice is the simplest and most effective way to achieve this
No one can make you happy rather than you yourself. Love , joy, happiness, peace, purity, knowledge, power are within your self . Don't depend on others. Your inner soul virtues or potentials are enough to make you all time happy
There is no end to the desires, like wise to the sufferings. If you divert your desires towards divine ocean of bliss then you will never have any lack. All your desires will get fulfilled there. You will automatically detached from all desires under divine grace.
Spirituality is the means by which you can keep yourself always in present moment through chanting. When you are in present moment it means you will feel happiness and joy
What information (toxic) we are feeding to our mind decide our emotions and feelings. Choose wisely the information you feed to mind. Thoughts are source of all your actions and destiny
Psychological time is the cause of mind chatter. Either thoughts of past or future are causing you to suffer more. Worry is just negative thoughts of future outcome. Past guilts or future fear are creating negative thoughts and emotions. Suffering from past and worry for future making your life more miserable
Self discovery will reveal all your potential. Once you get engrossed with soul consciousness then nothing can hurt you in Life. Divine love and happiness will flourish your life. You have to find solutions for your external life through awareness of inner being
Desires and fear is the root cause of negative thinking. Overcome desire by God consciousness and fear by taking action and hopes. Unfulfilled desires causing you suffer more, so choose your desires or fears on reality base
All fears and negative thoughts are psychological in nature not on reality base. As real cause of our problems or suffering is misunderstanding created by mind. Understanding the mind better will solve all your problems in life
So much human suffering is caused through blindly believing what the mind tells us or making unfounded assumptions about ourselves and others. Get into the habit of questioning everything the mind tells you
Don't try to run away from life problems they will not leave you easily. Rather face them with confidence you will find it more easy that resisting it. They will come back to you. Only Action will overcome all sufferings
Your identity is based out of your memories. Your exists because of bundle of memories and experiences which mind has accumulated. If you don't want your mind to do it's duty then your identity will vanish. Mind has a important role to play in our life
If you view life from the standpoint that your purpose on earth is to grow spiritually and mature as a person, then every situation can be seen as a gift—particularly the challenging ones, for these are often the ones that offer the greatest opportunities for growth
Biologically, we humans are hard-wired to live simple lives, free from haste. Complexity and busy-ness disconnect us from the life inside us. They drown out the natural state of peace, contentment and connectedness
We miss so much of the wonder and beauty around us through being lost in our thinking minds. Life is here, now but we miss it because we are deeply absorbed in mental movies about the past and the future
Whatever the mind may tell you, there is no distance between you and peace, between you and happiness, between you and aliveness
You feel peace when you are free from the conditioning of mind, peace is your original nature. It is already there inside you. It has simply become shrouded in the fog of busy-ness, complexity, false beliefs and unhelpful lifestyle choices
Situations arise all the time —some pleasant, some challenging—but it is the mind that dwells on them and labels them as problems. In life there are only situations. Problems are the domain of the human mind
The real problem is not being present—spending our days lost in past and future thoughts—ruminating on what happened yesterday and anticipating tomorrow’s troubles
Our minds have a tendency to only remember the best qualities of our past. We delete the tedious and monotonous and just remember the highlight reel. We also tend to falsely believe that recapturing something in our past will make us live happily ever after.
Life is always happening now, but, distracted by our thinking minds, we fail to notice. And through habit, we give it our full attention. We find the mind’s content way more compelling than the life around us
If your are willing to settle for one thing i.e. either peace, love, joy then you can easily achieve, but human mind wants everything that is the main problem (desires going to make you greedy)
Nature of Mind is noisy. Mind remains active or get attracted towards noise or sound naturally. That's why Mantra chanting or Music are commonly followed means to attend peace of mind.Your mind get involved into sound it creates will get diverted from thoughts going on. Some times meaning of mantras are not important than chanting is vital to create sound to attract mind smoothly.
Anything that you respond to is a product of your mind.
It is your mind that becomes angry.
It is your mind that becomes stubborn.
It is your mind that wants to get even.
It is your mind that is hurt.
But if you subdue your mind, tell me, where is the anger?
Where is the depression?
Where is the response to conditions? There isn't any.
When the mind is subdued there is only eternal peace and that peace is the self, consciousness.
Consciousness is always peaceful, always happy. It has nothing to do with conditions. All conditioning comes from the mind.
Therefore I say to you,
do not try to change conditions.
Do not try to change situations.
Simply learn how to control the mind by
making it passive and quiet, and then you will find that things turn out better for you than you can possibly ever hope for.
There are no problems.
There is nothing wrong.
Everything is unfolding as it should. Everything happens in its own time.
Space and time are illusions. They really do not exist. They're stationary. Causation doesn't exist either. No thing has a cause, therefore no thing has an effect. Cause and effects are again products of your own mind.
When the mind is quiet, karma ceases. Samscaras are non-existent. There never was a cause for anything. But if you feel that in a previous life you did something wrong and now you are paying the price, or if you think that you did something
wrong in this life and you’re paying the price, then you'll pay the price, because that's what you think.
There is virtually no price to pay, because nothing ever happened. If it appears to have happened to you then you have to go through the consequences of having the effect return, or karma will come back to you, because that's what you feel, that's what you believe.
It's all in your feelings and your belief system.
But if you feel as if you're born at every moment, every moment becomes brand new.
Where is the effect?
There is no time for any effect.
There is no space in which to have the effect. Space and time and causation become one, the present moment.
And if you feel like that then you can look into the future, which doesn't exist, and see what's happening.
It all has to do with your mind.
As long as you feel situations you know it's your mind that's doing it.
