  Work Life Balance

We have become too much workaholic that we are unable to spare time for our family. With change in working loads, late hour assignments , too much of expectations from management,has caused  stressful situations in family life also .Too much of over indulgence in work will create stressful situations and you will loose peace of mind .

" There is no such thing as work- life balance - it is all life .The balance has to be within you " 

Striking work -life balance is the need of hour ,or else we have to bear the consequences of imbalance.

Without family life satisfaction ,you can't achieve professional life or career growth . Current lifestyle which is continuously pressing us to be the part of rat race.While running behind the success we are losing our control over balanced social life.

Below are the 9 ways to strike balance between work-life 


1)  Recognize the imbalance 

Respond to the indications that you are getting due to imbalance in work-life . When we get overwhelmed while maintaining balance ,that is the indication that ,there is some problem you need to respond to it.

Acceptance & one step towards balancing effort is enough to take necessary actions . your willingness is a indicator that you are on the right path .Awareness of problem is the first step towards solving the problem .Only awareness and acceptance of imbalance will bring required change .

2)  Have holistic approach towards balancing 

Never give excuses that you don't have enough time for family & work . Your attitude towards work-life balance decide your efforts to achieve that balance .You have to spare time to make balance .

Have holistic approach and willingness , as family contribute a lot for your overall development of satisfied life and career advancements .Giving enough time to family is the best recreation time for us.

3) Prioritize important tasks (to-do list) 

Most of the time because of our personal inefficiencies , we get too much burdened  or overwhelmed .Having too much to do makes us more stressed than actually doing that . Instead of getting stressed if you start acting on the task you will make it happen so quickly than desired.

Always maintain to-do list for importance activities & prioritize tasks as per urgency. Identify your time consuming activities and eliminate unnecessary tasks .Focus on core activities so that your time will be utilized for value addition activities only. 

4) Don't be workaholic

Most of the people have got addicted with work , they like to spend maximum time in office. People are finding pleasures in gossiping post working hours .Some of us even don't bother to neglect family.

Don't make your job as your life , some day you may not have it .Remember you have family also.You have social responsibilities to serve others .Too much of work & negligence towards family is causing family conflicts .

5) Learn to Say "NO"  

Don't hesitate to say NO for extra overburden work .Now a day it has become fashion to over burden your employees . At some point of time we get too much stressed due to workload .You must identify your limits and convey it to management that how it is affecting your work life balance .

Saying NO at right time is the only escape route for stressful situations.Set your boundaries for work .Don't feel too much insecure about your job . You deserve to be treated well .Ask for help from top management in case of rising conflicts with boss.

6) Delegate work 

Most of us have habit to keep all the decision making authority to our self  . Getting involved into each and every activity will make your life hell .We must limit our self for level of engagement in tasks.

So delegate your work to your subordinates . Ensure proper training & monitor progress till they get desired efficacy .Delegation will help your juniors to learn more and grow for top management positions .Taking responsibility will make you prepared for future opportunities .  
    
7) Get enough rest 

We are getting into habit of rushing unnecessarily .We rush for office , we rush for targets , we rush for success , we rush for all the walks of life .Loosing peace of mind is the one major factor in work life imbalance.We are getting into the habit of rushing and creating stressful situations.

Always take frequent breaks while working that will save your energy for family affairs. Practice Relaxing your body frequently in office hours , just for 5-10 min. observe your all body parts and say relax! relax! relax! .....
 
8) Dedicate fixed time for family 

Have discipline to fix daily evening 1 hrs. for your family or kids .By fixing time slot you can achieve quality time spending with loved one.More you spend time with family more you will feel relaxed .

Without dedicated time slot we will not be able to spare time , or else you will keep diverting that time for other activities .Spending time with family is the best way to release your stress level .While playing with the toddler you will almost forget all your worries and troubles .

9) Don't bring office stress at home

Most of us have habit of day dreaming where people always carry thoughts everywhere they go . Many times we are under pressure due to office workload or tasks . We keep thinking about our work problem during driving to the home.

Many people carry the work stress at home which will hamper the family relations . You keep on thinking about worry at home also.Carrying that worry will not allow you to enjoy family time.

" Life will always get busy , make time to do the things you love " 

Never give excuses that you don't have time for family .Remember that without family support your will not be successful in your career .

Always give time & efforts to strike balance between life & work.You need to give priority to your family first .Dedicate your fixed time for family .

Delegate work to your subordinates & learn to say "NO" for overburden work loads .
